The Strand at Headlands is a sun-drenched landscape of cascading slopes, white sand beaches and commanding coastal cliffs, all converging at the Pacific. The 121 acre site includes the 6-acre Strand Beach and the historic “Dana Point” landform—a landmark visible 30 miles up and down the coast. It is literally the last undeveloped ocean front property of its kind in Southern California.
The Strand at Headlands has been designed to reflect the epitome of the Southern California lifestyle. The project includes a 90-room luxury resort and spa site that overlooks Dana Point Harbor to the south. The 118 custom homesites, which are oriented to the north, enjoy white water/white sand views, with the front row standing a mere 20 feet above the beach. The custom design guidelines challenge the architectural community to strive for perfection, yet allow for a diversity of styles.
The splendid bayfront mansions of Newport Beach…the Mediterranean ambience and art galleries of Laguna Beach…the world-class hotels of Dana Point…this is the Orange County region known as the “California Riviera.”
Here you’ll find one of the world’s most welcoming climates, with communities as diverse as the people in them—eclectic artist’s enclaves, spectacular ocean view homes, islands filled with cafes and boutiques and much more. The sun, salt-air and numerous amenities attract visitors from every corner of the globe—to the luxuries of the Ritz-Carlton and St. Regis hotels, the championship golf courses and the unspoiled beauty of the white sand beaches and crashing surf.
Whether your tastes run to competitive yachting or gourmet dining…whether you’re moved by Pacific sunsets or the famous Pageant of the Masters…the California Riviera remains unforgettable.
The Strand community was designed to respond to the spirit of the Headlands, and to respect the site’s natural environment. This unique landscape covered with chaparral, coastal sage scrub and native grasses remains precious to many, so we are preserving as much natural habitat as possible while opening public access to ocean front lands that have been closed for over 50 years.
One of the state’s most comprehensive conservation plans guides the Strand development process:
Our vision for The Strand at Headlands is to create a quality beachfront community that balances human needs while preserving and protecting the natural ecosystem.
